Africa is known as the "Dark Continent" - The preaching of the gospel is a light that illuminates the world. II COR 4:3-4 "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them"
In the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty nine, Pastor Alvin Smith embarked upon a missionary endeavour that would change his life and affect the lives of countless others. Pastor Map of AfricaSmith was sent into the nation of Sierra Leone (declared by the United Nation as the poorest country on earth) under the support of The Door World Outreach Ministries. Here, Pastor Smith began to pioneer a church mission - with the focus of discipling young men and women - who would in-turn answer God's call to reach the lost in other African nations. As a result of the faithful prayers of God's people throughout the world - today the Church in Freetown has grown to 1300 strong. It has also become the epicenter for church planting that has touched more than 12 nations throughout the continent of Africa. It is simple, the mandate that Pastor Smith was given, has also been passed on to the second generation churches. That mandate is the mandate that Jesus has given to the entire body of Christ: "MARK 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature". It is the desire of our ministry that the light of the glorious gospel would shine throughout the continent of Africa, bringing glory to God!
